Bike Rental Terms & Conditions

Please read the following rental conditions before completing your reservation with Elite Bikes Jávea.

🕒 Rental Periods

  • Monday – Friday: 10:00 – 18:00
  • Saturday: 10:00 – 13:00
  • Sunday: Closed
  • Rentals are available on a daily or multi-day basis only. Half-day rentals are not available.
  • Bikes must be returned during our normal opening hours. Late returns may result in additional rental charges.

💶 Booking & Cancellations

  • A €20 booking deposit is required to secure and confirm your reservation.
  • The €20 booking deposit is not an additional fee. It is deducted in full from the final rental price when you collect your bike.
  • If Elite Bikes is unable to provide the reserved bike, the €20 booking deposit will be fully refunded.
Cancellation or no-show: the €20 booking deposit is non-refundable.

🪪 ID & Age Requirements

  • A valid photo ID is required, such as a passport, national ID card or driving licence.
  • Minimum age to rent: 18 years.

💳 Security Deposit

  • A security deposit by card is required when renting a bike.
  • The security deposit is separate from the €20 booking deposit.
  • The security deposit is not an insurance policy and does not limit the renter's responsibility for loss, theft or damage.
  • The security deposit will normally be released or refunded after the bike has been returned in good condition and there are no outstanding charges.

🚴 Safety & Responsibility

  • The renter is responsible for the bike throughout the entire rental period.
  • Helmets are highly recommended and must be worn where required by law.
  • All local traffic regulations must be followed at all times.
  • The bike must be used responsibly and only for its intended purpose.
  • Any accident, damage or mechanical problem should be reported to Elite Bikes as soon as possible.

🔒 Theft, Damage & Insurance

  • Elite Bikes does not provide theft or damage insurance for rental bikes.
  • The renter is financially responsible for the bike during the entire rental period.
  • Damage caused during the rental period may be charged to the renter.
  • If a bike is stolen or lost during the rental period, the renter may be charged the full replacement value of the bike.
  • Bikes must always be securely locked when left unattended.
  • In case of theft, Elite Bikes must be informed immediately and a police report must be filed.
⚠️ Rental bikes are not insured against theft, loss or damage.

🚫 Restrictions

  • Off-road riding is not permitted unless you are renting a suitable MTB or e-MTB.
  • Bikes may not be transported by car or another vehicle without prior approval from Elite Bikes.
  • Rental bikes may not be sub-rented, transferred or provided to another person without permission from Elite Bikes.
  • Bikes must not be used for racing, jumps or other activities for which the rented bike is not designed.

↩️ Bike Return

  • Please return the bike in the same general condition in which it was provided.
  • Any new damage should be reported when returning the bike.
  • Excessive damage, missing accessories or other losses may result in additional charges.
  • Please check that all accessories supplied with the bike are returned, including locks, keys and other equipment.
